The Global Forum on Modern Direct Democracy is the largest global conference focused on issues related to direct democratic and citizen participation rights.

Each year, it welcomes around 500 participants from over 60 countries, including experts from politics, administration, academia, business, and civil society perspectives. It is attended by activists, organisations and academics from all over the world.

The goal is to bring together people with different experiences and backgrounds, so as to give activists and organisations the opportunity to share their insights and connect with others working on the same issues.

This year, the Global Forum is combining forces with EUROSFAT, aiming to provide the framework to assess Romania as a hub for discussion at the global level and more importantly for the future of the European Union, Romania's development as an active actor in the EU, both internally, as well as across the borders.
